1. "Tonsillitis"
In response to message #0

I read sometime in December that the entire cast contracted tonsillitis & that is effecting taping because the long hours needed to film the show (with rehearsals, etc) has caused Glee to fall behind in taping new ones. There hasn't been a new episode in a while (or my DVR is messed up).

But the gossip grapevine had it that Naya (Santana) and Mark (Puck) were hooked up and then she found out he was messing around and went all Carrie Underwood (Before He Cheats or whatever that song is called) on him and caused a major drama on the set for a short period of time.

That IRL Naya is a total bitch who slept her way into the role.

Also that Lea hooked up with both Corey (Finn) and the girl who plays Quinn season 1. This was all "casual and fun" for Lea -- who has some boyfriend in NY-- and Corey was ok with it, but Quinn feel in love with Lea and has been pining/mooning over her ever since to the point that it is driving Lea crazy and she told the producers she doesn't want to be in any scenes with her (or as little as possible).

Don't have any idea if any of this is true, but it's more interesting than the Finn/Rachel romance on the show itself.

Little busy playing with Jane's new Human Cannon, people - we've set it up on the backlot and spend our days launching extras over New York Street while the recently returned Holly Holiday cackles maniacally. We finally finished shooting the Super Bowl episode. The Never-Ending Production, as it were, but we screened it at lunch and it was worth the sleeplessness.

I can't remember half the crap we shot on the next three episodes, but it'll come to me.

Almost forgot about the Valentine's ep, and the insanity of shooting at the Gap at The Grove at the height of Christmas shopping season.

Poor Chris gets his heart broken. Almost.

Kevin and Harry tore up "PYT".

In response to message #12

LAST EDITED ON 08-Feb-11 AT 11:16 AM (PST)

Chris was in the Super Bowl episode. In fact, three days before delivering the episode we went back and shot scenes with him and Darrin at the Lima Bean (aka the Coffee Bean here on the lot) because we'd shot them in the stands during Thriller but had dropped the scenes at Dalton Academy (aka the Pasadena Red Cross building) that set up their being at the game. Good times.

As for Chris singing, we did tonight's When I Get You Alone at The Grove before the holidays. If there's anything more shrill than a Beverly Hills milf who's had her shopping plans thwarted by a big, bloated production, it's the squeals of their teen daughters every time they saw Chris or Darrin in the window.

And we first rolled on Silly Love Songs around 4am at Breadstix (the Paramount commissary), and the grips had to black the windows before we were done. One in an endless procession of Fraturdays.

Glamorous, huh?

...was priceless. Love the Lauren character. So nice to see Puck fumbling around like a lost puppy. Great comedy chemistry with those two which is just what the show needs sometimes.

Hopefully this whole Quinn/Finn thing will go away soon. I'm all for closure between them, but Finn would have to be even dumber than he looks to go back to a girl who cheated on him, got knocked up, and lied to him for months about being the father when he won't even talk to Rachel because she kissed Puck. Uh...duh. That's just character assassination.

Sex tape!

Very big with the kids right now.

Also right now, for the same episode, shooting Gwyneth and the girls doing Landslide, while Stevie Nicks watches at the monitors.

Apparently she's a fan, and decided to come watch us shoot the number.

No pressure.

23. "PYT was the best of a great show"
In response to message #11

LAST EDITED ON 11-Feb-11 AT 08:53 PM (PST)

I hope the show features more of Artie & Mike Chang performing together. I really, really liked that number, especially Brittney's "He's my man and his legs don't work" at the end. Mike Change is becoming a fav.

Also, I so prefer Rachel when she isn't with Finn. When she has everything she wants she is just totally insufferable (or more insufferable than usual). Without having everything she wants, she is a little bit sympathetic & that kind of balances out the insufferable parts of her character.

The Valentine's episode was a great one. I find that every other episode is great (with the other being just ok). I guess I prefer the episodes that are more "plot focused" where the songs help advance the story-line (I've said that before). However 2 complaints --

NO SUE MOTHERFUCKING SYLVESTRY!!!

As much as I like Blaine & his voice, did he really need 2 songs while Kurt hasn't even had 1 in the last 2 episodes?

And a slight nit-picky 3rd -- the song he song at the GAP (while a good number) was really kind of inappropriate to woo someone -- basically the song was saying "I'm going to get you alone & fuck you so good, you're going to love me forever." No wonder Blaine's crush was not impressed (besides the getting fired & underage thingy).

Oh, and I totally want the Warblers to win. They are far superior to New Directions, imo.

Listen up, Spongehair Squarechin, Jane is back in full scheming effect after a failed Sue-icide attempt involving Gummy Bear vitamins.

Now that she's lost the Cheerio's, she's got a new plan to take over as coach of the kids' competition at Regionals.

Darrin is the lead Warbler, so don't hold your breath for any Chris songs... Until Regionals.

The Lea/Amber diva-off kills.

Oh, and Sing was fun. Til they blurred out Jane giving everyone the finger.

Apologies for the Beiber storyline.

But really, with Chord's hair it was inevitable. And Mark's hoodie wig almost makes up for how terrible that guys music is.

Good Ashley stuff, too. Girl knows what boys like.

Lastly, those Little Light kids damn near broke my heart, but we had a killer pizza party for them when we finished the scene.

So I have been fairly successful in avoiding watching anything Justin Beiber-ish until now. Is that the type of choreography he does? Because that was my Reebok Step Aerobics routine from 1993 to 1996 at Platinum Gym in Rego Park NY.

What, like Kurt can't have a solo apart from the Warblers -- like Rachel does all the fucking time (ie, walking the hallways at school, pining for Finn or whatever the fuck she's pining for) that has nothing to do with the "Glee Club" per se?

Nonetheless, I admit that, with the exception of NO KURT AGAIN, I really liked the Beiber episode. First, I have never heard Beiber before, but I don't get the hate on him -- he's like a million other little "teen idols" that came before him (Leif Garrett, Shaun Cassidy). Little girls need their "girl-like-boys" to crush on. I realize I'm not his demographic, but the songs weren't horrible & it was funny to see all the girls going wild for the "Justin Beiber Experience" because that does seem to be what is going on with Justin Beiber these days. Second, I like the plot development with the characters (especially liked Lauren's "I Know What Boys Want" because I was crazy for Bow Wow Wow when I was a teen). Third, there was a good amount of Jane Lynch. All in all, a pretty perfect episode -- 2 in a row!!

Just when I was getting to the point of Kurt overload (seemed like his story line dominated every episode), he disappeared from my screen entirely. And Heathen is right, there's absolutely no reason he can't sing a number that has nothing to do with the Warblers. I cry foul.

I don't like the Lauren character that much, maybe because I hated the line she was given, "This is what America looks like." That seems to be the response du jour when someone is trying to defend why they weigh 400 pounds, but it's a cop-out. And no, everyone doesn't have to be a skinny minnie but sorry -- being morbidly obese is not cool, especially for kids.

Anyway, glad to see Sue back in fine form. The earlier part of the show where she was happy and friendly and singing compassionately to pediatric cancer patients had me worried!

We've spent the week shooting Regionals.

If I have to hear The Hey Mondays "Candles" one more time...

RIP, Warblers.

Chris will FINALLY sing again??? How many weeks has it been now?

38. "Shot One Backlot, You've Shot Them All"
In response to message #37

Wrong studio, but right idea. Our stages make up the entire east side of Paramount's NY Street. Stupid NCIS:LA and stupid CSI:NY with their gunfire stepping all over our dialogue...

We don't go to Nationals, and New York, until the end of April.

Chris sings in Regionals. Then comes home. With Darrin.

Though we start shooting the arc on Monday. Jane assembles the Legion of Doom to take down Matt and the kids, enlisting Steven, Cheyanne, Jessylin, etc.

Nothing better than former Glee coach turned petty pot dealer Sandy Reyerson as "Pink Dagger", Cheyanne as "Sgt Handsome", Jessylin as "The Shrew" and Jane as, of course, "Zod, rank to be determined".

Gwyneth's back, Charice is back, Chenowith's back... Tomorrow is Day One of the last six episodes of season two.

Time flies when you don't get to sleep.

Holy hell, that Legion of Doom is AWESOMENESS (although it totally needs some Ken Tenaka since he pretty much ran away with his tail between his legs because of Will/Emma).

In response to message #42

I can actually buy Lauren's self-esteem in the context of Glee, because the writers have actually made an effort to flesh out her character & give us reasons to believe her.

Some things, however, cannot be borne, even in the context of Glee -- and Emma not taking the Stamos joystick for a ride is one of them. It cannot be borne, I tells ya!

it's the story line I don't buy -- at least not with John Stamos in the role of loving hubby who's crazy about her. Now, maybe if she had married the old football coach -- she'd still be a cheap little tease -- but at least it could have been believable.

50. "Mixed feelings about the ep"
In response to message #46

I'm still not sure Gwennie works as Holly for me. I'm not sure comedy is her thing...or something. I dunno, something is off. And I don't have a burning hatred of her like most people do, so it's not that...and if she's going to guest star can we keep it down to one song for her? At least Chris got to sing a few bars.

But for me, the best part of the ep was Kurt's dad's sex talk. Spot on. It's something similar to what I would say to any kid. Nice job.

Oh and I'm not buying Santana being all in love with Brittany. That was a weird WTF moment for me. Just sayin'.

Also loved the foam party. A song well done.

Uh-oh! Gary Glitter controversy!

Rumours abound.

Ryan's obsessed with the sheer atrocity of that Rebecca Black song, "Friday."

Poor Jonathan and Mark.

And at the prom, too.

Of course, the Abba was inevitable. And the Adele almost makes up for it.

I've read that Rachel and Jesse St. James sing an Adele duet in the prom episode, so there's still hope!

It was nice to see background characters this week have somewhat of a storyline, but what is with making Tina cry and only letting her do like a half a song all the time? Jenna Ushkowitz's resume is going to say things like "proficient at singing half songs" and "can cry every episode"

Love love LOVED the flash mob. I'm so jealous I wasn't in it.

Oh and that mediawhore extra who keeps running her mouth and lying (saying she hasn't been on set since October even though she's been seen in episodes that were shot after that) should get blackballed. I do have to admit that I hope they DO reshoot the prom ending though because if what she said is true, I'm not too thrilled with it.

Overall, I loved this week's episode. Great musical numbers (the I Feel Pretty/Unpretty Mashup was great), good story development, but I did miss Sue Sylvester helping them pick out what they should put on the shirts...

Actually, that girl hasn't been on the set since October 7, her first and last day. She was sent home and DNR'd (do not return) by lunch for her totally inappropriate behavior around the kids. Some time later she was working Big Time Rush, which shoots on the lot, and we literally had to have their ADs come over and drag her out of our basecamp because she kept trying to get into the cast trailers.

She runs with a lot of our regular extras and has been gleaning spoilers from them for a while now, and posting as if she is somehow involved with the show.

Draw your own conclusions, but she is most definitely not a victim.

As for the whole "never work in this town again", it was totally overblown.

That said, The Hollywood Reporter immediately ran an article under the guise of confidentiality in the age of social networks and managed to use her name no less than four times.

Everybody reads the trades, especially casting directors.

Just sayin'.

In response to message #63

Really? They had a whole analysis on whether or not she was lying on one of the Glee fan forums where they had still shots of the Valentine's Day episode and someone had thought they found her in line for the kissing booth behind Rachel, but maybe it wasn't her.

Anyway...don't care. She's clearly just an attention whore and now will not work much because of it, so that's all good.

I'm excited about prom...especially after that Quinn slapping Rachel in the bathroom scene in the promo. Whoa! I don't think doughy Finn is worth the slapping, but maybe it's over that hot piece Puck. He's totally worth the assault. Or Jesse St. James. He'll do, too.

Oh, and please tell me their Nationals outfits are better than those ugly things with the leggings and combat boots they wore at the last competition. They looked like shiny bag ladies.

When these guys are singing, do they really have to make those faces to hit the big notes or is there a director yelling: "CUT! Do it again, and make it look difficult to hit that note. Make it look like you have been constipated for three days and can't take it any more! Make it look like Wylie Coyote dropped an Acme Anvil on your big toe! I want to see those tonsils!!!"

I have seen really good singers hit big notes without using every muscle in their bodies.

Also, is Puck's new thing slowly wandering the halls strumming his guitar?
